Hanks Anuku
Nigeriafilms.com reports that popular Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku might have been stranded in Accra, even though the website claimed he was searching for a job in Accra.
The site claimed, “From our checks, Hanks has been in Ghana for about 1 month now, without being on any particular movie set.
When he first came to town, the idea was that he came for a movie shoot, but since then, he has not been seen on any set and no Ghanaian has seized the opportunity of his being around to get him to feature in their production like they usually do anytime a Nollywood star is around.”
“Since he arrived in Accra, Hanks has been spotted in various parts of the town like Osu, Labone, Spintex and Circle. Within his period of stay, he is said to have been staying in different hotels.
According to the site, “A source close to him informed that he even had arguments with the managers of some of the hotels over bills.
As at the time of filing this report, he was staying at a cheap hotel at Tantra Hills, a suburb of Accra.”
The website’s sources revealed that “when Hanks came to Accra about a month ago, he came with his manager, who later left for Nigeria after they had a disagreement.
He later picked a guy based in Ghana, simply identified as Toni Can, as his manager.”
“The Nigerian manager came with Hanks in a bid to make money but the plan turned otherwise when they could not secure any major movie deal. Hanks however resorted to some other means to make money.
Some of the things he did include modelling for some phone retailers at Tip Toe lane (which could be likened to Computer Village in Lagos, Nigeria) who paid him some money.
“One of the deals however turned sour last Tuesday, which resulted in Hanks picking a street fight with Toni Can, his new Ghanaian manager.
Both of them were involved in a street fight over the deal he had with a phone retailer, HX Mobile Phones, close to Odo Rice in the Circle area of Accra.”
“In the last 2 weeks, a lot of people have been asking questions as to what exactly Hanks has been doing in Ghana.
Within the last 2 weeks, he has been seen regularly at New Town area of Accra where he has been pricing power bikes.
The close source also informed us that Hanks had, at a time, approached some agents, telling them that he wanted an apartment because he intended to settle in the city.
Two weeks back, Hanks was also spotted at the popular Labadi Beach where he was signing autographs and posing for pictures with people for money.
He came with a photographer who billed anyone who wanted to pose for a snap with him.
Other people who insisted on taking photos with him with their personal cameras were charged higher fees.
As at the time of filing this report, Hanks was still in Accra and we can confirm that he was not on any set,” the site concluded.
