David “Davido” and Dapo “D’banj” Oyebanjo are in the studio collaborating on some songs.

Davido, the “Damiduro” crooner was signed to Dbanj’s record label which has been revealed to be “Def Jam Africa” and this deal marks the beginning of a relationship between two artistes.

Def Jam Africa is the African arm of Island Def Jam, which is part of the Universal Music group, that boasts of some of the best musicians in the world, including Grammy Award winner Kanye West.

The recent signing of Davido; and Dbanj granting an interview in Ghana to say that he is creating a record label that is for African artists to be pushed to the rest of the world, is an indicator that he is building an army of musicians to be part of this record label with international affiliations .

D’banj’s younger brother K-switch is part of the record label, and recent collaborations with Ikechukwu on stage in the weekly Industry Nite held at Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, might just be proof that the rapper is on the artiste’s wooing list.

After the Mo’hits split, Dbanj’s career has lost no ground, with “Oliver Twist” on UK top ten chart and a record label; it seems the only way is up for this ‘superstar’.
